Bulawayo:

In the first ODI of a three-match series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, the hosts set Pakistan a target of 206 runs in Bulawayo. However, Pakistan’s chase was hindered by rain, which led to an early conclusion of the match.

Zimbabwe, after winning the toss, batted first and posted 205 runs in 40.2 overs. Pakistan’s debutant, Faisal Akram, along with Salman Ali Agha, made an impact with the ball, both claiming three wickets each. Haris Rauf, Abdullah Shafiq (who also ran out a batter), Aamer Jamal, and Mohammad Hasnain added one wicket each to the total.

In response, Pakistan’s batting faltered dramatically. The top order collapsed as Saeem Ayub (11), Abdullah Shafiq (1), and Kamran Ghulam (17) were dismissed early. Salman Agha (4), Hasibullah (0), and Irfan Khan (7) were also sent back to the pavilion, leaving Pakistan struggling at 58 for 6 in just 21 overs.

With rain halting play and no further progress, the match was abandoned under the Duckworth-Lewis method, handing Zimbabwe an 80-run victory.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan remained not out on 19, with Aamir Jamal at the crease, yet to score.

Pakistan's final eleven included Saeem Ayub, Abdullah Shafiq, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Rizwan, Hasibullah, Salman Agha, Irfan Khan, Aamir Jamal, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, and Faisal Akram.
